It also contains the remains of a fortification from II. world war. Apart from the fact that many beginners will push their boundaries, they will also have a unique experience on the suspension alpine bridge with an unforgettable panoramic views. The period of use of this ferrata is possible throughout the whole year, and in the summer days departures are earlier in the morning and later in the afternoon. It is possible to organize special night tours too.

The grade of this ferrata is “C” – moderate heavy with individual overhanging more demanding parts.

The length of the ferrata itself is 80 m, the 35 m long suspension bridge is crossed, and the total duration of the entire tour is apx 2 hours.

2. Via ferrata Vulin potok (Blagaj)

This via ferrata is located 15 km south of Mostar in the historic tourist village of Blagaj, globally known for the spring of the Buna River and for a historical-religious building from Ottoman times called Tekija. The Blagaj ferrata is one of the most interesting and picturesque because of the canyon itself through which it passes and because of the rich flora and fauna of this Mediterranean region. This ferrata, like all our ferratas, is educational and all because of the cultural and historical as well as the natural resources of our region. Due to its pleasant climate, Ferrata is passable all year round. The best conditions in summer are earlier in the morning due to the great heat and late in the afternoon.

The tour is circular and the length of the entire tour is 6 km, including hiking and climbing ferrata through the canyon. The total height difference is 370 m. The duration of the whole tour is apx 4 hours.

The weight is “B-C” – light with a slight shift of the boundaries on the verticals.

3. Via ferrata Podružje (Mostar)

Via ferrata which is located in the almost unknown and hidden impassable canyon Podružje in the very heart of the city of Mostar and it is rich in endemic flora and fauna as well as historical monuments from ancient times. Ferrata goes along a rainwater stream tucked among rocky cliffs, which is rich in clear water in natural pools as well as with waterfalls in the spring and autumn month. Ferrata is often impassable in the winter months due to heavy rainfall that fills the pools with water and waterfalls flood the trail.

The weight of the ferrate is B, light and suitable for beginners without any previous experience.

The duration of the tour is apx 4 hours, with a total altitude difference of 420 m.

4. Via ferrata Armin Gazic (peak Brasina, mountain Velež)

Via ferrata is located on the imposing northern rock of the Velež mountain, which is the most famous and largest natural barrier in Southeast Europe in distance of 13 km. Ferrata ends triumphantly at the top of peak Brasina (1897 m), a recognizable peak on which a military base was located during the former Yugoslavia, buried deep in the mountain itself. After the withdrawal, the army of the former state mined this concrete base, and today only the remains and some underground tunnels are visible at the top of Brasina. From this peak there is an unforgettable view of the surrounding mountains that reaches all the way to the Adriatic Sea. During the return we have a beautiful view of the Neretva river valley as well as the city of Mostar. Ferrata can only be used in the summer (from May to October) because it is located at a high altitude and is covered in snow and ice in the winter.

The weight is B/C, the ferrata itself is quite easy but requires more physical fitness due to the approach to the beginning of the ferrata as well as due to the time spent in the high rock.

The length of the ferrata is 350 m, the height difference of 250 m is overcome, grade “B”. Access to the ferrata takes 2 hours while the ferrata itself takes about 1.5 hour of climbing. Our offer includes transport from the city to the starting point by off-road vehicle. The whole duration of the tour is 8 hours, including transport from/to Mostar city.

5. Via ferrata Sokolov put (Romanija, Sarajevo)

Via ferrata is located in high rocks on the mountain Romania, east of Sarajevo. In free translation as well as local mythology this name would mean the Land of the Romans. The access to the ferrata is through a dense pine forest, and on the ferrata itself you can relax on the lookout with benches and enjoy the beautiful view of the enchanting natural environment. The special feature of this ferrata are two adventure bridges which are at the same time a unique attraction in the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It can be used in the summer months (from May to the end of October) due to the height at which it is located as well as the characteristics of this beautiful mountain known for its low temperatures and high snow.

Grade of this ferrata is “B “with parts of grade “C”. A special feature is the suspension bridge (monkey bridge) composed of only three cables, which significantly raises the complexity of this ferrata.

The length of the ferrata itself is 350 m, the height difference of 160 m is overcome. Access to the ferrata takes 20 minutes easy walk, and the climbing part takes about 1.5 hour. Transport from Mostar to Sarajevo is included in our offer.

The term “via ferrata” is Italian for “iron way”. This makes a whole lot of sense when you start to understand what a via ferrata course is actually made of. A via ferrata is a route on a mountain face equipped with steel cables, ladders, and other fixed anchors. These steel attachments into the cliff face makes it so climbers can make their way across, up, and down cliff faces that would of been nearly impossible without the assistance of these attachments. This system allows for even inexperienced climbers to make their way onto ledges, vertical walls, and mountain peaks that they never knew was possible. Special equipment is also utilized to ensure that climbers will be attached to a cable at all times protecting them from any falls.

Ferratas were created out of pure necessity. While versions of via ferratas had existed long before, they took the form of how we know them today back in the Dolomite mountain range during World War I. Soldiers in Northern Italy needed a way to get troops and equipment through hostile and difficult conditions of the Dolomite mountains and established the iron rungs and ladders in order to help them ascend these steep faces. That was 1914, fast forward 116 years and now they are a extremely popular way for the masses to access and enjoy rugged mountain areas like never before.

Since we wanted to do our first via ferata, we had a lot of questions. We ended up here with these lovely people via Instagram. We really had the time of our lives. it really was so well organized and the guidance was excellent. We were picked up on time from our hotel and a packed lunch was even put together for us. We are very happy that we ended up here. Beautiful route; the Armin Gaciz route and the hike to it was also very impressive.

Robert and Julijana provided us with a beautiful via ferrata. Very detailed explanation before we started, which made us feel completely safe. The via ferrata was challenging and very beautiful. We could complete this at our own pace and we experienced no time pressure. Upstairs we could enjoy delicious fruit with a beautiful view of the city. We hiked a little further to an old castle at the top of the mountain. We received a lot of information about via ferrata, history of the city, other possible excursions during our remaining stay in Bosnia Herzegovina.Afterwards we received many beautiful photos and additional information about other via ferratas and hikes that we could do.Very nice people with a passion for nature, via ferrata and helping their customers. Recommended!!

Absolutely fabulous! My husband and I did the Fortica ferrata a few days ago and loved every moment of it. It was short but sweet and just challenging enough for my husband who is not a climber... This was our first ever ferrata but i have a feeling it'll be hard to beat. Would highly recommend this company and their tours to anyone visiting. So friendly and helpful to all levels. Thank you so much for giving us an experience we'll never forget!

Ferrat Adventures in Mostar organized an absolutely incredible hiking experience that we will cherish forever. Our journey took us through adventures trails in the water, leading us to a truly stunning waterfall. Juliana and Robert, our guides, were not only knowledgeable about the area, adventure sports, and even local politics, but also incredibly fun to be around. They made the entire experience unforgettable.Another thing that sets them apart, is their commitment to providing a personalized and private tour. This exclusivity ensured that our hike was tailored to our preferences and abilities, making it a truly unique experience. From the moment they picked us up in a Jeep from our hotel, we knew we were in for something special.Throughout the hike, Juliana and Robert took care of every detail. We were provided with fresh fruit to keep us energized, and their attention to safety was evident with the pre-hike briefing and secure drop-off at the end of the tour.Undoubtedly, the hike with Ferrat Adventures was one of the best things we did during our holiday. The beauty of the tracks and the magnificence of the waterfall left us in awe.If you're seeking an unforgettable adventure in Mostar, I highly recommend Ferrat Adventures.
